Melaka, the places before and after independence

Since independence in Melaka, lots of development has been done by the leaders. These include repairing and upgrading the buildings and places of interest in Melaka. And after achieving its own independence, Melaka has now seen to be far more develop than it had at the time of colonization. These are the examples of the pictures of past and present of few places around Melaka.

Many are certainly aware that the Melaka River is an important river during the Malay Sultanate of Melaka. This river has high historical value because the side of the river is where settlements, cemeteries, business, shipping, ports and other places located hundreds of years ago. Up to now it is still important as the Melaka State Government has already beautify the river and use it as one of the tourist attraction.
The pictures show the situation on King's Coronation Day,1927 at Tan Kim Seng Bridge and the present situation at the same bridge.

The Kampung Hulu mosque that was known for the multi-layer roof, built in 1728 during the Dutch colonization is one of the oldest mosques in Melaka. Melaka State Government has renovated this mosque time to time in order to preserve its aesthetic value.

The pictures show the situation now and then at Jonker Walk that long ago was known as Jonker Street Melaka, which has now become one of the places of attraction.
The pictures show the situation during British colonization and the present situation after independence at the Dutch Square.
